WHAT DOES 15 AND 30 HOURS MEAN FOR ME?

Since September 2024, eligible working families in England have access to 15 hours of childcare for children aged between 9 months and 2 years.

All working parents are entitled to 15 universal hours. From 3 years old, there will be an additional 15 hours which will extent it to
30 hours.

In September 2025, 15 hours for working families with children under 3 will expand to 30 hours, meaning eligible working families
will be able to claim 30 hours of childcare from the term after their child turns 9 months until they reach school age.

WHEN CAN I USE THE ENTITLEMENTS FROM?

When your child turns the relevant age: When they can get their hours from:
1 January to 31 March
Term starting on or after 1 April
1 April to 31 August
Term starting on or after 1 September
1 September to 31 December
